Sausage Tree Camp
Sausage Tree Camp is an upmarket property built under mahogany and sausage trees with prime location on the Zambezi River. It has extensive views from the rooms and central areas.
Our favorite tent is the gorgeous honeymoon suite with its own plunge pool. It is arguably the best option in the Lower Zambezi region for pure romance. We also like the other four Bedouin-style tents with their clean and elegant décor, interesting outdoor bathrooms, and general attention to detail. Their special touches – like their high-quality binoculars provided for your use, for example – make this such a prized camp.
Sausage Tree Camp is respected as a well-run property with great service, good food, and excellent guiding. Alan is the resident photographic safari guide and, with prior arrangements, will gladly take other photography enthusiasts out on private excursions. The area is home to animals such as elephants, antelope, big cats, hippo, crocs and many other wild inhabitants. Aside from game drives, Sausage Tree also offers exciting canoe trips along the Chifungulu River (not the gentle, laid-back variety).
Sausage Tree is open between April and mid-November and is accessed via a 40-minute car and boat transfer from the Jeki Airstrip.
