Highlights of our best Uganda safari
- This 9-day fly-in safari begins with an overnight at The Boma in Entebbe.
- Fly to Ndali Lodge in Fort Portal and trek in Kibale Forest National Park in search of chimpanzees, an easy hike where you’ll spot at least five or six other primates along the way.
- Next, fly to Bohoma Lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. Gorilla trekking can be challenging, lasting for up to six hours at high altitudes and over rough terrain, but finally coming face to face with our close cousins is a uniquely exciting – and moving – experience.
- Fly to Wildwaters Lodge, a private island mid-stream within the rapids of the Nile that can only be reached by boat. Embark on a full-day Grade 5 rafting experience – high grade rapids and the river’s consistently high volume of water makes this one of the world’s most exciting rafting destinations – or perhaps try bungee jumping, jet boating, horseback riding, or fishing. Or relax in the lodge’s natural swimming pool, made of pink granite.
